During a contact lens fitting, you and your doctor will work together to determine the best contact lenses for your needs.
Several things will happen during this appointment:
We will discuss your contact lens type preferences and options
Measuring your cornea, iris, and pupil
The doctor will determine the overall health of your eyes
You’ll learn how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses
We will give you a test pair of contact lenses to wear for a trial period
Following Up After A Contact Lens Fitting
We provide instructions on determining if your trial set of contact lenses works for you. During the next week or so, try to:
Note any vision changes. Has your vision improved?
Observe both your short and long-distance vision clarity
Determine if your lenses are comfortable
Is anything odd going on? (Is the lens getting displaced easily?)
You can report your experience wearing the trial pair of contact lenses at your next ophthalmologist visit. If changes are needed, you’ll get a second contact lens fitting with a new set of trial contact lenses. The process will repeat until both you and your ophthalmologist are satisfied that the lenses are a good fit.
