Maria Takacs, A.P.R.N., C.N.S.
Maria is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and is currently the practice administrator at Kellis Eye & Laser Center. In her Nurse Practitioner role, she provides clinical services to the Kellis Eye and Laser Center patient. Maria has received additional training on the use of the Sciton Laser and has completed a preceptorship in aesthetic laser therapy at Kellis Eye & Laser Center.
Maria received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Ursuline College where she graduated summa cum laude. In addition, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing graduating summa cum laude from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.
Maria has been certified in both emergency and critical care nursing and has served as a Basic (BCLS), Pediatric (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor. She has held several clinical and administrative positions and has numerous years of experience in emergency and critical care/flight nursing. She has held clinical nursing faculty positions and is published in medical-surgical nursing textbooks as well as co-authored several articles on the care of patients in the emergency department.
Maria is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and has been recognized as a Clinical Nurse of the Year by University Hospitals of Cleveland for her leadership in nursing care.
Maria enjoys the balance between the clinical and administrative functions at Kellis Eye & Laser Center because it allows her to use a variety of her nursing skills. In her spare time, Maria enjoys visiting her three children, Maggie, Steven, and Daniel and loves to cook and entertain, allowing her to put her Italian heritage to good use.
